Inside BGS

One of our clients once told us that we have the lowest overhead facility he'd ever seen; we think he meant it as a compliment! We're proud that our main offices are in Slab Fork, West Virginia, in an old coal company building that we renovated. We are not the biggest company on the scene - but we are one of the best. We typically perform about 100 projects per year, from those in the $2,000-$300,000 range to multi-million, multi-year projects.
And we're not isolated in Slab Fork, either! BGS uses its own T1 line and the Internet to connect to the rest of the world. We may be working with fabricators in Nashville and detailers in Atlanta and sending information to various job sites - and it all happens seamlessly. BGS enjoys a loyal and dedicated staff whose collective experience is over 400 years. Many of us have worked together for nearly 30 years; our turnover is extraordinarily low. We know what our strengths are, and they are many! From time to time, we may need additional help, and we've built a team of expert consultants that we use to supplement our knowledge. At BGS, we have structured our company and operations to extend our capabilities and really "put our arms" around a whole project. We can control the whole project from beginning to end with our own internal controls and processes. This allows us to complete your project to your timeline, budget, and specifications. Boyce Graybeal & Sayre, Inc., our engineering and administration arm, also encompasses BGS Construction, our onsite construction group. We have two fabricating facilities, and a supply company, Raleigh Hardware, www.RHCsupply.com. We also have two associate electric companies, Yost Electric and Arc Electric. BGS is part of the Manufacturers and Services division of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association. We always join the professional organizations of the industries we're involved in, because we are interested in promoting the businesses of our clients and being partners in those efforts. At BGS, we work very closely with our clients and consider you part of the design team - this allows us to build projects that specifically meet your needs. Sometimes a client wants to purchase the equipment and let us build an infrastructure around the equipment. Other times, a client may want to provide certain services, and we are flexible with that as well. Whatever works best for you will also work best for us! Our design staff is highly experienced; most have more than 20 years experience. Our key engineering managers at both locations have 25+ years of experience in the business. BGS is a small company with a family atmosphere. We enjoy a loyal and dedicated staff whose collective experience is over 400 years. Many of us have worked together for nearly 30 years; our turnover is extraordinarily low. We know what our strengths are, and when we need additional help, we go outside the company and get the best expertise to supplement our knowledge. The photographs of the aggregate processing plant in this section are a good representation of BGS's design capabilities and scope. For this project, BGS performed all the design work, beginning with the formed and poured foundation, through the design work for placing equipment and the infrastructure for the equipment, the design for the structural work, conveying systems, and the design of the electrical portion to connect all power in the facility. |
