One of the strengths of Boyce, Graybeal, and Sayre is that all three owners are very active in day-to-day operations. Doug Sayre, vice president and operations manager, coordinates field operations for all projects; all of the supervisors in the field report to Doug. He spends a lot of time in the field ensuring that the quality and professionalism that are BGS hallmarks are demonstrated in every facet of construction.
There are multiple photographs in this section of our largest project to date, a $20+ million aggregrate processing plant. This is a complete turnkey project which began design work in late 2004 and on-site operations in February, 2005. In June, 2006, we began a three-phase start up of operations. We've built six major structures (crushing stations and screening towers), 3 tunnels, and 45 conveyor belts with a crew of 10 key engineering people in-house and our subcontractors - just imagine the scope of project management! This project coordination, which has allowed us to hit all our marks and reach start-up phase on this project, is what we'll bring to your project, too.
In materials alone, this project required:
- 12-1/2 thousand yards of concrete
- 5-1/2 million pounds of structural and plate work
- 2.2 million pounds of rebar installed
One of the tunnels alone is 1500 feet long and required 700 yards of concrete.
When complete, this project will operate with a feed rate of 2200 tons per hour and have two systems with load-out capacities of 1500 and 2000 tons per hour.
On the construction site, BGS is often able to stagger crews so that work continues 7 days a week, including weekend shifts - with no overtime!
All work sites have site-specific safety policies in place in accordance with MSHA and HAZCOM
